Cybersecurity Analyst
Watermark is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst with a passion for cybersecurity, strong integrity, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have the expertise to ensure the operational security posture of critical information systems within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies. Working closely with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and Information Systems Officer (ISO), the candidate will play a key role in safeguarding Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and SAP activities by ensuring the implementation and maintenance of robust cybersecurity controls and compliance with security policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include…
Security Management & Coordination
- Support the ISSM in fulfilling their responsibilities and duties related to information system security.
- Review, update, and prepare Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages and security authorization documentation for information systems.
- Notify the ISSM of any changes that could impact the authorization status of the system(s).
- Coordinate changes to system hardware, software, or firmware with the ISSM and AO/DAO before implementation.
- Provide security coordination and review system assessment plans as part of self-inspection activities.
- Collaborate with DoD, National Agencies, and contractors to support the development of assessment and authorization (A&A) efforts within the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
- Ensure effective procedures for clearing, sanitizing, and securely destroying hardware and media.
- Monitor system recovery processes to verify that security features and protocols are fully restored and functioning.
- Conduct ongoing monitoring to ensure systems remain compliant with security authorization packages.
- Oversee continuous monitoring of information systems and maintain security oversight for authorization boundaries.
- Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and work with teams to implement countermeasures.
- Ensure that all security-related documentation is up to date and accessible to authorized personnel.
- Collect, review, and document audit records, addressing any anomalies or issues identified.
- Prepare detailed reports on the security measures and safeguards applied to computer systems.
- Participate in required technical and security training relevant to the role, including operating systems, networking, and security management.
Experience Requirements:
- 5-7 years related experience
- Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) counts towards 3 years of experience
- Special Program Security Certification (SPSC) counts towards 5 years of experience
- Maximum equivalent experience for SPED Certifications is no more than 5 years
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4 years)
- Must complete the DoD SAPCO approved SAPNP training (if performing personnel security functions)
- Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility
- Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information
- Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph
- Reports to a physical location which occasionally requires the ability to traverse between buildings
- May require sedentary work at least 50% of the time
- Ability to manage stress with a high degree of maturity/professionalism
- Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership skills and the ability to work well with others
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Candidate should possess 2+ years of Special Access Program (SAP) experience

The anticipated compensation range for this position is $80,580 - $109,020. Multiple considerations are taken into account when determining the final salary/hour rate, including but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, education and certifications, relevant work experience, related skills and competencies, as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
